| I noticed that when cruising above 2000 rpm, and letting off of the throttle, the On Idle Status timing drops to 20'BTDC and holds at that level for a second before stepping down to 15'BTDC. This aids in a smooth off-throttle transition and helps prevent driveline backlash bucking. However, when cruising below 2000 rpm. the timing drops immediately to 15'BTDC, often from as much as 40'. I'd like to experiment with reprogramming the ECU in order to lower that rpm threshold signal to between 1000 and1200 rpm, However, I don't know how to access and change that part of the ECU programming. The objective is to smooth the transition interface between Off Idle Timing and On Idle timing under 2000 rpm by extending the 20' plateau lower and only allowing 15' of timing when the car is actually idling at rest or less than 1000 rpm. I'm still trying to eliminate that big drop in timing when the TPS signal activates an On Idle Status and there is not enough rotational inertia to provide a smooth transition.
